Tasting Notes
Robert Parker – 92
Aromas of crips orchard fruit, pear and apricot, mingled with hints of fresh bread and pastry, introduce the latest release of Gosset’s NV Brut Grande Reserve, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy but incisive wine that’s deceptively generous but also structured to reward some bottle age.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2031

The NV Grande Réserve is a gorgeous entry-level wine from Gosset. Crisp, dry and resonant, the Grande Réserve offers lovely textural depth to play off the more mineral-driven notes that are so typical of the Gosset house style. All the elements come together nicely in this effortless, gracious mid-weight Champagne. This is very nicely done. Disgorged on April 26, 2017. Dosage is 8 grams per liter.
Anticipated maturity: 2017-2024
JancisRobinson.com – 16
45% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier sourced principally from Aÿ, Bouzy, Ambonnay, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Villers-Marmery. No malo. Based on the 2014 vintage, with a minimum of three years’ maturation in the cellar and a further six months resting post-disgorgement. Cellar master Odilon de Varine. Dosage 8 g/l. Available from 288 branches including WaitroseCellar.com. Reduced to £37.50 until 3 December. Savoury nose. Real attack with some age on this. Not as subtle as some and a bit aggressive in terms of acidity. I think there are better bargains to be had among the grandes marques champagnes in Waitrose in the run up to Christmas 2019.
Anticipated maturity: 2020-2024
