Tasting Notes
JancisRobinson.com – 16.5
Cask sample. Deep crimson. Intensely sweet aroma of both fruit and a touch of vanilla. Here, as in the Beaune Aux Cras, there’s a contrast between the sweet fruit and the fresh acidity. Open and inviting. A little leaner on the palate than the Clos St-Jacques, balanced but a little more sinewy. Tannins are chewy, compact, not aggressive. A slight leafy note in the empty glass. (JH)

The 2020 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) is a standout this year. Revealing aromas of cassis, dark cherries, incense, rose petals, dark chocolate and spices, it’s full-bodied, concentrated and structured, with striking depth and dimension. Vibrant and penetrating, it will require patience, but it’s the finest Clos Vougeot I’ve ever tasted from Jadot.
