Vinous – 89
The 2018 Meursault Poruzots 1er Cru has a slightly muted/reduced bouquet that demands coaxing from the glass. Eventually, it reveals apple blossom and a very light flinty scent. On the entry, the palate is well balanced with orange zest and a touch of mango. However, it never builds into a Meursault with real pedigree and feels a little monotone on the finish. I wonder where this will go? Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 white tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2022-2028
Robert Parker – 92
With the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Poruzots, Jobard’s portfolio takes a step up in density and concentration. Wafting from the glass with notes of crisp Anjou pear, fresh bread, toasted almonds and white flowers, it’s medium to full-bodied, bright and layered, with tangy acids, chalky extract and an elegant, fine-boned profile.
Anticipated maturity: 2022-2042
