Vinous – 88

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Clos des Réas 1er Cru, Michel Gros’s monopole, was matured in 50% new oak. It has a floral bouquet of mainly black fruit with veins of blue, all infused with iris and violet. The dense palate is quite structured on the entry, showing a veneer of dark chocolate and a touch of spearmint toward the grippy finish. [Neal Martin, 10/01/2019]
