Vinous – 91
The 2017 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru works much better on the nose compared to the 2019 with crisp red cherry and raspberry fruit, very perfumed and delineated. The palate is framed by fine tannins, quite sappy with decent weight, maybe missing a little weight on the finish considering the vineyard in question, yet balanced. To put it in banal terms, just enjoyable.

Mid crimson with some noticeable oak sweetness on the nose but it does not overpower the red fruit. Dry and peppery on the palate, fine-grained tannins giving a chewy finish at the moment but the fruit is there to fill the core. (JH)
