Robert Parker – 96
The 2015 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts resents being awaken from its deep sleep, unwinding in the glass and shedding a touch of youthful reduction to reveal a deep bouquet of wild berries, smoked duck, exotic spices, orange rind, peonies and sweet soil tones. Deep, full-bodied and concentrated, it’s serious and tightly wound, with striking intensity and length. As I predicted when I last reviewed it, it will require—and requite—patience.
Anticipated maturity: 2030-2060
Vinous – 96
A much darker and more virile side of Vosne emerges from the 2015 Les Beaux Monts. Explosive and ample in textural feel, the Beaux Monts is a wine of real breadth. Smoke, leather and earthy notes complement the dark-tone fruit nicely in conveying an impression of authority.
