Tasting Notes
Vinous – 86-89
(70% merlot, 20% cabernet franc and 10% cabernet sauvignon; 60% new oak): Dark ruby. Rich black cherry and cocoa on the deep nose, along with a grapey nuance. Then fairly rich and dense on the palate, with almost creamy dark berry and mocha flavors. Finishes leafy and aromatic in the 2013 fashion, with youthfully chewy but ripe tannins.
Robert Parker – 86
The 2013 Petit Village has an uncomplicated bouquet with blackberry, cedar and iodine scents, quite floral in style with a hint of wilted violet petals. The palate is medium-bodied with a saline entry, crisp and quite firm tannin, a little compact towards the finish, but nicely focused. This is a decent, short-term Pomerol from the AXA-Millésime group, though it has no ambitions towards longevity.
Anticipated maturity: 2016-2026
JancisRobinson.com – 16
Tasted blind. Mid garnet. Mocha and leafy cassis. Lively, juicy and only slightly dry on the palate. Another more drinkable wine but acid sticks out on the finish a little. (JH)
