Tasting Notes

JancisRobinson.com – 17.0

Restrained nose. Great sweetness on the front palate but not much complexity. Weight rather than flavour. Even a bit of heat on the finish. This may evolve into a wine in which everything knits together but at the moment it’s a collection of components, I’d wait a while for this. The acidity is notable but so is the alcohol. [04/12/2009]

Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017

Vinous – 89+

Slightly reduced, reticent nose hints at grapefruit and wet stone; seems a bit less ripe than the Pucelles. Then citric and penetrating in the mouth, with strong, slightly spiky acidity making it hard to taste today. Less full than the Pucelles. This is all corners today and in need of patience. Almost certainly going through an awkward stage. [Stephen Tanzer, 09/01/2006]
