As we continue to grow, we understand how important it is to develop direct relationships with key producers in Burgundy. This new direct relationship with Domaine Jean et Sébastien Dauvissat in Chablis represents for us the result of hard work and visits on the ground, meeting the producers. And most importantly it represents for our clients the chance to secure under-the-radar stock from high-potential producers, all ex-cellar and at best prices on the market, simply.

It was back in September, after the harvest, that Sébastien Dauvissat himself opened the door of his Domaine to Crop & Vine. Their location is idyllic; in the heart of Chablis, just neighboring Domaine Raveneau. The Dauvissat family has owned the estate since 1899. The family’s vineyard holding extends to more than 11 hectares and planted with vines with an average age of 20 to 70 years. The cellars which are located under a 17th century house (the former presbytery of Petit Pontigny), were enlarged in 1980, allowing them to store old barrels underground. There, a large proportion of the crus undergo oak aging - which is unlike the rest of Chablis where stainless steel tank aging is usually favored.
