Exactly 100 cases of Pavie's Aliénor case were made and this is a particularly special release, given the perfect score from Jeb Dunnuck.

The name "Aliénor" refers firstly to the shape of the bottle used for Pavie since the 2000 vintage, which they consider the best shape for long ageing; and to Aliénor d'Aquitaine (Eleanor of Aquitaine), who married Henry Plantagenet (later Henry II) — this is often considered the event that strengthened the trading relationships between France (specifically with goods, including wine, from the Bordeaux area) and England and is likely one of the reasons London has long been one of the global wine hubs.
